About Oak Brook, IL
Oak Brook, IL was once known as Fullersburg, like the nearby woods, because of early settler Ben Fuller. But, today's Oak Brook is credited largely to the vision of Paul Butler, who's father had moved to the area in 1898. While Oak Brook has a resident populartion of less than 10,000, it is home to numerous national and international businesses and an expansive, upscale shopping center, where Phillip's Flowers had a popular store for many years. Today, Phillip's has a large interior plantscaping facility in Oak Brook and delivers flowers throughout Oak Brook daily from its flower shops in nearby Hinsdale, Elmhurst, and Westmont.
