Chicago Information and Resources
Phillip's Flowers & Gifts was founded in "Chicagoland" by James A. and Helen Phillip more than 100 years ago. In fact, James got his start in the flower business as a youth delivering roses and bouquets in the city by streetcar. Years later, as newlyweds, he and his wife opened their first flower shop in nearby Cicero, Illinois, and the Phillip family has been delivering flowers in Chicago and the suburbs ever since. No wonder we're proud of Chicago. It's where our roots are and where our business has thrived for three generations. And, as our company has grown, so has our city.
Today, with a population of roughly 10 million, the greater Chicago area is a thriving hub of business, the arts, transportation, health care, education, shopping, and nightlife. It's a top tourist destination, too, with more than 40 million visitors each year. Officially founded in 1833, Chicago is a 'My Kind of Town' place with something for almost everyone. Explore the Windy City for yourself, including the Chicago area 'landmarks' below, and find out all that our city has to offer. Then, come back and visit us again and again, because in the City of Broad Shoulders, there's always room for everyone.
